See absolutely no reason not to come right back with the same play as last week. Norv Turner and the Raiders continue to show the desire to win their preseason games and the head coach has actually indicated that he will nearly double the amount of plays for the starters from last week while shortening the time for the fringe players. Gannon continues to want to battle to protect his position as the No.1 QB, while Collins was very impressive against the Niners in little more then half the second quarter. Tuiasosopo continues to impress in extended minutes in the second half. Suspect that a very disgruntled Turner will have the Raider corners more careful on their coverage in order to avoid a repeat of last weeks multiple pass interference penalties called under the new "no touch downfield" rule. Hopefully the officials will show a bit more restraint in calling marginal plays. Don't see the Raiders repeating getting called for 21 penalties for 215 yards this week.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys continue to look out of sorts following the Quincy Carter debacle. The rotation of Testaverde, Henson and Romo struggled at times, turning the ball over with 3 interceptions against the Texans. Second game on the road for the Cowboys while the Raiders return home from across the Bay to play in front of the home crowd, albeit no sell-out, but the Raider Nation faithful will be in full gear. Once again, lost a little line value as the game opened at -1, but this week we will protect against any possible move to a field goal by game day. Hence,

1* Oakland -2

Plays are rated 1*-5*

Good Luck All.

Sounds good, Ted.

Any lean for tonight?

The 36 seems awfully high for these teams
& in the preseason. Started at what, 34?

And why does everyone like Carolina, up
from -3 to -4, or -3, -141 at PIN.

Really like the Raiders in this spot. Dallas has nothing at QB and Raiders have Collins and Tuisasopo. I figure that Dallas will try to keep this low scoring but I like the Raiders too.

OMT - any angles on the SF - Chicago game, besides ugly.

Mr. Leisure:

Glad to see you got a good number. Thanks for the well wishes and best of luck to you.

X-Files:

Reference some of the discussion in the Offshore Forum on tonight's game. Manning starts but will go up against the starting defense of the Panthers. No easy task. The thoughts of some is that he will struggle in this situation. Warner didn't look particularly good last week, but will be facing the scrubs in the second half. As for the total, line has moved up 2 points and while many believe it should go low, care should be taken as should the ground games be unable to be established, an aerial adjustment could lead to more of the new rule "no touching downfield" pass interference penalties, thereby lengthening the game and raising the total. As for my opinion, the game and total are both too tough to call and warrants a pass from me. Game doesn't warrant a posted release. I'll remain selective and watch for the future. Best of luck if you decide to play the game tonight.

Fair Warning:

Glad to hear we agree on the Raiders. As for the SF/Chi game, the Niners are still searching although Pickett looked good in the fourth quarter last week. Slight lean to Chicago, but not really playable or warranting a posted release. Best of luck this weekend.

i like da raidas ted but dallas CANT play as bad as last week and parcells promised to evaluate his starters this game more than his young guys.the raidas looked good but thier defense was awfull giving up way too many yards against a poor team. but what do i know? it is a revenge game as dallas whacked em last preseason.~~~~~~~~~~~~RG

Never underestimate the wrath of an angry Bill Parcels. Dallas starters playing entire first half.

Said Coach Norv Turner, "We've got to build on our starters, and they'll play more. But there are some of those vets who aren't going to play a half. If they went 10 plays (against the 49ers), they'll get 16 to 18 plays this week." I believe 16-18 plays constitutes less than a half as most offenses get about 60 offensive plays in a game. I'll take the Cowgirls starting defense over the Raidas starting defense. Promising QB-D Henson is playing almost entire 2nd half vs Raidas scrub defenders.

"Raiders rookie Robert Gallery, the No. 2 pick in the draft, injured his right elbow Monday (hyperextended). Gallery couldn't say when he might return to practice, though the injury was not serious. Cornerbacks thin: CBs Clarence Love (knee) and Ike Charlton (toe) are hurting."

But bottom line: I wouldn't bet vs the Cowgirls this week-end as Parcells would not be pleasant to face next week if they lose again.

This game is not bettable for me as I agree that the Raida QB rotation is superior to Dallas. I'm just trying to present an opposing perspective. Hope I'm wrong - GL.

yeah the Raider's D didn't look that great, but they weren't as bad as it seemed, as they were flagged for 215 yard worth of penalties. And they still managed to win the game none-the-less. The Raider's secondary was geting flagged if they so much as breathed on one of the Niner's receivers. The same example was NOT made of the 49ers defense. I'm really starting to hate this new "chuck" rule. Basically if the league wanted to fix a game, now they can with little effort.

if you check the service thread at cappermall you will see a great many on dallas tonight. I think they are looking for the "play this one for the coach and your JOB" game

Dallas looks like the play. Also Hensen actually was like 11-13 in the last game. Expect him to elevate into Parcells system. Remember it does not take much to QB in a parcells system

I see that Olympic now has Raiders minus 3 +110 which looks pretty tempting .... Cowboys suck IMO so will have to take Oakland .... good luck on your pick OMT.
